I live in New Jersey. I graduated college in 1969 with a B.S. in chemical engineering, as well as a B.A. I retired ~ 9 years ago from my career as an engineer for the federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), enforcing our laws that protect against water pollution. I receive a very satisfactory pension. I've never been married; though I have never had children of my own, I am god-father to three children (now grown), who are very dear to me. I own a home here in NJ, as well as several vacation condos. My favorite spot to visit is the coast of North Carolina, where several of my time-share weeks are located. This area of our country, though growing, is still quiet enough to really relax and enjoy nature, with plenty of beaches. I enjoy reading and cinema, and love to play bridge and backgammon, as well as doing crossword puzzles. Although I have now retired, living on a good pension, I both look and act younger than my age! I've been lucky in that I've never gained much weight in middle-age, but I work out at a fitness spa just enough to ensure that I stay slim! I'm ~ 6'1" (185 cm) & 155# (61 kg.). For recreation and exercise, I play tennis (though not very expertly!). Recently, I have taken up golf. I am active in my (Lutheran) church; I was President of the congregation, I taught Sunday School, and I sing in our choir. I also volunteer at a food pantry set up by four churches in our town, distributing groceries to needy families, and sing with a group at local hospitals and nursing homes.
