Why? I'm an easy-going, light-hearted funny kind of guy. A ***** master and slave to my own vices. A dreamer and a poet who is quick to laugh. I love Bill Hicks - the world needs more people like him. Monty Python Joe Rogan, Spike Milligan, South Park and Doug Stanhope all make me laugh. Movie guys I love: Kubrick, Hawks, Kaufman, Kurosawa, Scorsese, the Cohens, Chan, Bergman, Lang and Bunel. I love movie books especially about the golden age of Hollywood. I like to read history and politics, Flann O'Brien and Terry Pratchett, Kafka and Kavanagh (Patrick) among others - but don't have the time to do it as much as I'd like. I love being alive but have trouble with the fact that it's a one way ticket and I can't have a two-way conversation with the fecker who sold it to me. I don't mind getting old but am a bit worried about the way my hair seems to be starting the long march to colonise my whole body. I have no need to die of old age surrounded by my loving family. I'd much prefer to die riding my wife of fifty years or a woman at least half my age or on re-entry to the earth's atmosphere after a space voyage. Or better still - any combination of all those things. I'm a charitable person who dislikes rich people telling us how we should help the poor. I object to product placements and the commercialisation of every goddamn human endeavour. I don't like the way the whole world is becoming more homogenised but love that globalisation has made us all part of a global village. I love variety and have a brain that thrives on things outside its own terms of reference. I laugh a lot and can do so at most inappropriate times/things... funerals can be difficult. In fact I think I have a form of Tourettes. ;-)
